In 2008, the Bitossi family, heirs to a ceramics tradition dating back to1871, set up the Vittoriano Bitossi Foundation for artistic ceramics and the chemical industry in its historic headquarters in Montelupo Fiorentino. The Foundation is mainly sponsored by the Colorobbia Group and its chief purpose is the enhancement and dissemination of the ceramic culture, historical research and scientific research. It promotes cultural initiatives involving modern and contemporary art, also on the international scene.
In addition, it also performs supporting activities in the health sector in the ceramics districts where the Group's companies are located.
The Foundation has focused its activities on sorting and studying the materials brought to light, consisting of over 7000 ceramic pieces, plaster casts and moulds, work tools and a huge archive of documents relating to both the Manifattura (the pottery)and the Colorificio Ceramico (the glaze factory), thus constituting the AIB -

In october 2011, the Bitossi Industrial Art Museum became a member of Museimpresa, the Italian Association of Company Archives and Museums promoted by Assolombarda and Confindustria.
Manifattura Bitossi, now Bitossi Ceramiche, was admitted to the registry of Historic Italian Enterprises in december 2014.
